Last Updated: 07/10/2025

1. Introduction

SPASCAT TECHNOLOGIES S.L., NIF: B72935513, with registered office at C/Figueres nº26, 08320 El Masnou, Catalunya, Spain (“we”, “our”, “us”), provides the mobile application Sigpac Monitor (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you use the App.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (679/2016) and the Organic Law 3/2018 on data protection and guarantee of digital rights.

2. Data We Collect

The App itself does not require user registration, nor do we collect or store personal information such as names, email addresses, or login credentials.

The only personal data processed through the App may include:

  • Location information (optional): If you grant the App permission to access your device’s location, we use this solely to center the map on your current position. This information is processed locally on your device and is not stored or transmitted to our servers.
  • Crash and error data: We collect minimal technical information about application errors and crashes to improve stability and performance. This data may include event logs, device model, operating system version, and anonymized identifiers that do not personally identify the user.

3. Third‑Party Services

Our App connects to external services in order to display maps, parcels, allow geocoding queries, and collect crash data. These services may independently process data according to their respective privacy policies:

When using these services, the providers may receive technical information automatically sent by your device (e.g. IP address, device/browser details). We do not control how third parties handle such data.

4. How We Use Data

We use collected information only for the following purposes:

  • To show your current location on the map (if granted).
  • To provide access to official agricultural parcel information (SIGPAC).
  • To allow text‑based geocoding searches through Mapbox.
  • To identify, analyze, and fix application errors and crashes (Firebase Crashlytics).

We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, or analytics beyond crash diagnostics.

5. Data Retention

We do not retain or store personal data on our own servers. Location information is used in real time and discarded immediately on your device.

Crash data collected through Firebase Crashlytics is retained in accordance with Google’s retention policy and used exclusively for technical maintenance and performance improvement.

Any data processed by third‑party providers is subject to their own retention policies.

The processing of personal data in the App is based on:

  • User consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) when enabling device location.
  • Legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) in ensuring the proper operation, security, and improvement of the App (Firebase Crashlytics).
  • Legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) in providing basic functionality of the App through third‑party services.

7. Users’ Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access personal data processed by us.
  • Request rectification, erasure, or restriction.
  • Object to processing.
  • Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. disable location permissions in your device settings).
  • Lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Authority (AEPD).

Because we do not collect or store data directly, exercising these rights will usually mean reviewing your device’s permission settings or contacting the relevant third‑party provider.

8. Data Security

We do not operate our own backend or data storage systems. Communications with third‑party services occur via secure connections (HTTPS). Security of data once transmitted to those providers is governed by their policies.

9. International Data Transfers

Third‑party service providers (Mapbox, MapTiler, Firebase Crashlytics) may process data outside the European Union (e.g. in the United States). These providers apply appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses and compliance mechanisms to ensure an adequate level of protection as required by the GDPR. For details, consult their respective privacy documentation.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will always be published in the App and/or on our website.
