Spascat at the ESA ScaleUp Commercialisation Networking Meeting 2026

Invited by ESA Commercialisation Gateway, Spascat participated in the ESA ScaleUp Commercialisation Networking Meeting 2026, held in Seville from the 19th to the 21st of May. The meeting gathered the ESA Business Incubation Centres (BICs), Phi-Labs, Technology Brokers and business accelerators with a shared ambition: strengthening Europe’s space commercialisation ecosystem.

During the roundtable of ecosystem companies, we had the opportunity to share the Spascat journey within the ESA ScaleUp ecosystem: from our first steps as an ESA BIC Barcelona company to our current work leading a project within ESA Phi-Lab Spain. The European Space Agency network has played an important role in helping us turn Earth observation research and technology into downstream operational products.

We also shared some of the lessons learned along the way: the value of early institutional support, the importance of staying close to real user needs, and the role of collaboration. It was a pleasure to exchange experiences with other companies of the ecosystem, including Geoskop, Aistech Space, IENAI SPACE, OCCAM Space, Antscape and adaptronics.
