WAVESS research recognised with an Honourable Mention at AET 2026

Congratulations to our colleagues from the Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC)! Their work carried out within the Spascat-led ESA Phi-Lab Spain project WAVESS has been recognised by the Spanish Remote Sensing Association (AET) during the XXI AET Congress, held in Cáceres.

The awarded research explores how satellite data from Sentinel-2, combined with water quality indicators such as turbidity and chlorophyll-a, can improve the accuracy of satellite-derived coastal bathymetry. The paper received the Honourable Mention for Best Student Contribution, highlighting the scientific excellence achieved by the team.

WAVESS focuses on the development of the next Satellite Derived Bathymetry (SDB) product, combining in real time USV data from Seabots with satellite images to create scalable bathymetric maps in record time.
